[Opinion] What is literature? A small statement as an answer to…

Today I want to share a post from my personal facebook timeline (which I made public)
about an article from a german media site/broadcaster which made waves in the manga community.

The articles can be read here (all articles are german only):

Original article from Mister Otte @SWR
Official statement from the Leipzig bookfair
an article as an answer to the original article by Mr. Otte

I not only wrote about the article itself I also asked myself: what is literature?
Or at least I wrote about how I know the term, how I explore the term.
Maybe people disagree with me and have another opinion. But maybe people think it is worth to read my opinion about it. Share your opinion if you like. 🙂 It’s very appreciated. 🙂

A few updates… small changes. ;)

My lovely reader,

some of you might have noticed it so far but I wrote my first “larger” manga review for this blog. *happy dance*
(A former entry was dedicated to Sternensammler, written in english.)

Gay Romance manga: Sternensammler (Anna Backhausen & Sophie Schönhammer)

I am normally a bit hesitantly with presenting gay romance manga (called boys love, yaoi or shonen ai*) on my blog since I like to specialize on gay romance books. But I also love to share a bit my love for a great german artist/author duo. The two ladies are Anna Backhausen (aka Holzesserin, in english her penname can be translateted as “Woodeater”) and Sophie Schönhammer (aka Salamandra). They produced a boys love manga called Sternensammler (in english: Collector of the stars, Chaser of the stars).

*the term “shonen ai” is a one which is often used in Germany to describe a less sensual, less explicit gay romance manga. I use this term not this way. I either call manga “yaoi”, “gay romance manga” or as the official, in  Japan used term “Boys love”. “Shonen Ai” won’t be used here so it won’t confuses the reader. 🙂

Share the Love Sunday # 2 – Connichi special (september 16th – september 18th)

A bit delayed and with a special topic I love to write about the convention I’ve attended this weekend. Every third (or fourth) week in September there is the manga and anime convention Connichi, Kassel (my university city). This year it was from september 16th – september 18th.
Since it’s only half an hour away from my hometown it’s a must to visit this convention and meet friends. ❤
