Saying goodbye to a series you dearly enjoyed isn’t always easy and saying goodbye to this particular was very hard.
The way Annabelle Jacobs wove a thrilling storyline with amazing characters is something I loved from each of her books in the series. This book was no exception and I was with Daryl and Jason from the moment I opened the book.
Although the book is possible to read as a standalone the events of the previous books are hinted or talked about and I adwise any new reader to pick up the other books otherwise it might be a bit confusing following the events properly.
Jason is a former Primerose Pack member and after the split of said pack to others like the Regent’s Park Pack they form a new pack – the Regent’s Hill Pack. While some former member can’t adjust to the new pack structure it’s Jason’s task to help the struggling member and to make the transition as smooth as possible. Not easy when there are some individuals who aren’t willing to see the good in the new pack and the new possibilties.
I was really into the way how Jason and Daryl formed a bond. They are mutual attracted to each other, but Daryl’s mistrust in the bonding and finding a mate for life due to bad personal experiences he witnessed is making him hesitant to let loose. That doesn’t change that he and Jason can’t keep their hands from each other – something that isn’t wise to do at all while their original task is to help the other members to bond with each other as a close and united pack.
This last book in the series closes the last chapter around the Regent’s Park Pack and former Primerose Pack fightings and I’m curious if we meet them again in other books by the author – if she continues to write wolf shifter series. 🙂 For now we have to say goodbye.
I’ll definitely recommend this series wholeheartedly and give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
