Everything Dominic Price has worked hard to uphold is about to come crashing down on everything he holds dear.
So much for the quiet life. Just as assistant US attorney and brewery owner Dominic Price is settling into a comfy new chapter with his partner, FBI agent Cameron Byrne, the sudden death of Nic’s father puts their happily-ever-after in jeopardy. Nic immediately suspects foul play, his prime suspect a notorious gangster his father was indebted to—only now the loan shark is out for blood.
Cam has been longing for Nic to finally let him in on this very personal case. But when Nic’s belief that he’s the sole Price heir is upended, the line between personal and professional starts to blur, leaving Cam unsure of where he stands.
Nic is depending on Cam’s kidnap and rescue expertise to save his recently discovered family member before it’s too late. But with a dangerous threat closing in, the ghosts from Nic’s past cast long shadows. Any relationship could crack under the pressure, but for Nic, finding his family might mean losing the love of his life.
Layla Reyne says:
“Nic and Cam have to fight for their lives and their happily ever after in this exciting, action-packed conclusion to the Trouble Brewing series.”

Those Titles!
By Layla Reyne
Knowing I have books out there with whiskey and beer titles will forever be one of the great joys of my author career. As a foodie, pairing food and drink is always a fun. Pairing titles with plots, in both Agents Irish and Whiskey and Trouble Brewing, was even more fun. Want to know how I came up with those Trouble Brewing beer titles? With Gravity Craft Brewery? Read on!
Imperial Stout – This title ties closely to FBI Agent Cameron Byrne, a Boston-Irish Southie who’s recently relocated to the Bay Area. Cam prefers the heavy stout-style beers like Guinness, Beamish and Murphy’s. (Don’t tell Cam, but Goose Island Reserve is my favorite stout!) Imperial Stout is a type of stout but a slightly different style (higher alcohol) than traditional stouts. With Cam going undercover in this book, it was a cool twist on the title too.
Craft Brew – In this Book 2, Cam’s fledging relationship with federal prosecutor Dominic Price is put to the test. Cam struggles with the cold case that’s haunted him and his family for decades—the disappearance of his sister—while Nic deals with threats from his father’s loan shark lender. Each must be at the top of their game, the best at their craft, and when family and friends enter the picture, they must dance carefully, mix things just right, or risk an explosion.
Noble Hops – Much like the Book 1 title was tied to Cam, Book 3’s title is tied closely to Nic. “Noble Hops,” in brewing terms, refers to the traditional “founding” hops/families of early beer making in Europe. Given that Trouble Brewing as a series deals with family—biological and found—and this Book 3 deals with Nic’s in particular—formerly a wealthy, powerful family that’s sunk into disrepute—a beer title that referenced the “founding families” of beer made sense. And let’s not discount the nobility of these guys (and the entire Whiskey Verse crew).
Gravity Craft Brewery
Nic co-owns Gravity Craft Brewery. When imagining a brewery name and logo, I drew on brewing and local inspiration. “Gravity” in beer-making refers to the amount of solids (sugar) dissolved in water. There are three gravity measurements – Original, Specific and Final. Gravity, for ex-SEAL Nic and former SEAL teammate and brewery co-owner, Eddie, was also something they had to deal with on missions, be it jumps or dives. As for the logo itself, all around the area where I/Cam & Nic live and where Gravity is located used to be apricot orchards. As such, the falling apricot is a salute to my home and a play on “gravity.”
All my love and gratitude to Morgan and Jess, dear friends who have been with me since my fanfic days, who helped translate my words into this amazing logo design!
Excerpt
“You sure piped down from when you first came in here.” Cam looped both arms around his neck. “Thought you were going to tear the bar apart.”
“That’s about how I felt, then.” He grasped Cam’s bare forearms—warm, muscled, and solid, the dark hairs prickling his fingertips. He never wanted to let go. “Closer, now.”
“Closer?” Cam’s voice dropped an octave.
Nic felt that kind of closer too. They hadn’t had much time for foreplay lately. He missed it, wanted to draw this out a little longer. And to celebrate a small victory here at the end of a day full of ups and downs. “Closer to nailing Vaughn and Bowers. To ending this.” He tightened his hold. “This could work, Cam. I’ve been playing at confident, bluffing, but I believe it now. We’ve got leads on all fronts. I just need the evidence, then I can put charge sheets in front of the grand jury. I can taste the indictments.”
Cam inched closer, elbows dipping. “If I get you the evidence, and we end this, then what happens?”
Nic coasted his hands up, over the rolled cuffs of Cam’s sleeves, over his shoulders, to his neck, fingers teasing the ends of his hair. “We move on, with the rest of our lives.”
Cam likewise wove his hands into Nic’s hair, playing along with a sexy smile. “And what life is that?”
Wanting to play, to keeping drawing this out, Nic waited until he was an inch from Cam’s lips, the agent drawing him in, then slipped off the barstool and ducked under Cam’s arm. Grinning, arms spread, he was far too proud of his far too simple maneuver, but he felt lighter than he had in days. He was going to enjoy this, while he could.
Cam laughed even as he cursed. “Fucking SEAL.”
Rushing back into his arms, Nic ate up Cam’s infectious laughter, swallowing it in a kiss and letting it fill his insides with warmth and love. Tasting victory. Maybe, just maybe, happily ever after was within reach, despite it seeming so far away forty-eight hours ago.
Cam had unfastened half his shirt buttons by the time Nic came back to his senses, remembering the future he wanted to show his boyfriend. He slipped his hold again, drawing a frustrated growl from Cam. “Worth it, I promise.” He grabbed Cam’s hand and tugged him toward the distillery. “Come with me.”
