Hi Mikku, thanks for having me and a big hello to all your readers!
You’re an author who has experience with publishing several translations of your works.
The second book in the True Love series, True Colors will be out September 17 for the German readers. But recently Scorpio Hates Virgo was also translated in French.
How does it feel to see so many of your releases in different languages?
To be honest, it’s still a bit unreal to see all these translations of my books! It makes me so happy that German, Italian, French, Spanish and Thai readers can experience these stories in their native languages. Also, I get to work with fantastic translators and publishers – thank you for making these translations happen!
Speaking of German translations. In your bio you state that you live in Germany, Berlin. It’s safe to assume you speak the language yourself but when I check the translator it’s not you who translate them. So how’s the process? Do you write your stories again in German or are they translated from English to German?
I think I speak enough German by now to get through my day 😉 but not enough to do a translation justice. I’m working with some great translators and editors that make the German translations happen, with a final proofread by my (German) husband!
Are you already thinking while writing a book that this could be possible get a translation? Or is it something that comes with the success of the one book? How much can you plan in advance?
It really depends on the country, and whether a publisher is taking care of the translation. When it’s going through a publishing house, they decide which books are interesting for their market, otherwise it’s a mix of what I think would work well for that particular market and how well the original English version has done. Ideally, I’d love to see all of them translated!
What do you think are the challenges in publishing bilingual, or, in your case in many different languages (like stated above French too)? Especially on the self-publishing market?
Do you get response from readers directly how they liked the translations, mainly the German ones? Do you attend to bookfairs like the Frankfurt bookfair (in October) or Leipzig bookfair (in March) to get an overview of the German publishing market or smaller conventions and bookfairs like BuchBerlin?
What do you think of these different markets, self-publishing vs. traditional publishing, if you can say anything? 🙂
One of the big challenges for translations is definitely the marketing. For German, my husband’s a great help, and for other self-published translations often my translators also help with marketing material for the book. While I absolutely love self-publishing, it makes sense to have a publisher involved if you don’t speak the language and don’t know the market!
I do get reader feedback, and so far, all the translations seem to have worked well for the readers, German and others.
As for book fairs, I was super happy to have been invited to YCon Paris last year by my French publisher and it was such a lovely experience! I haven’t done German book fairs yet, but maybe there’s an opportunity in the future. Other great conferences that I’ve been to and that I can highly recommend are the EuroPrideCon and the UKMeet.
Other topic: Can you already tell us what other books are in the pipeline? What series get their continuation? 🙂 There are a few pairings left in the Signs of Love series – two books are left, two last pairings – , but what’s next? What is a pretty different direction from the works we can expect from you? Is there a surprise (you want to hint ;)) for us? 😀
I can definitely give you a few hints 😀 This year, you’ll see “Pisces Hooks Taurus” (Signs of Love #4, October 16th) and a really cool Christmas project that I’m working on: it’s a series of books by some of my absolute favorite authors (Eli Easton, Kim Fielding, Jordan L. Hawk, LA Witt, N.R. Walker and RJ Scott) centered around a Christmas Angel that is passed on through the years. My story is called “Shrewd Angel”, it’s set in 1999 New Zealand and will be released December 2nd. SO much fun to write!
For next year, there’ll be new installments in “Signs of Love” and “Love Letters”… and then there are multiple projects that I just can’t decide between! But all of them are romantic, fun, contemporary romances 😀
Okay, last question: is there a genre or a subtrope you want to write a book about or do you stick to your favorites? 😀 It’s safe to say you’re one of the Slow Burn queens on the market, you know how to keep the reader on the edge and give them the super sweet HEA after they’ve suferred. I really love the tension, so thanks for that. 🙂
Thank you so much 😀 I really do like to keep my characters (and readers) waiting! So rest assured, you will always find that sweet slow burn in my stories! It’s my greatest joy to bring love to the world, and that’s what I’ll keep doing.

Oskar murmelte meinen Namen und legte hastig seine Lippen auf meine. Ich schmeckte Ingwer und Karamell. Ein Arm legte sich um mich, sicher und warm und fest. Eine Hand streichelte über meinen Nacken und drücke mich fester in den Kuss. Seine Zunge berührte den Rand meiner Lippen und die Hitze seines Atems jagte mir einen Schauer über den Rücken. Ich sank in seine Umarmung und ließ meine Zunge mit seiner spielen während sich unserer Körper fest aneinander pressten.
Sein Stöhnen kitzelte meine Lippen und törnte mich an. Wir waren beide hart und ich rieb mich in einem fordernden Rhythmus an ihm. Ich wollte, dass er mich fühlte, dass ihm klar wurde, wie leer er ohne mich war. Ohne uns beide.
Mein Atem strich über seinen Mund. Oskar zitterte, packte mich und alles außer ihm verschwamm zu einem Meer aus Farben. Mein Hintern stieß gegen die Ecke des Tisches. Das Tischbein knarzte als Oskar näher kam und ich ihn an mich zog. Wir bahnten uns unseren Weg zum Bett. Ich fiel darauf und Oskar auf mich. Sein Gewicht auf mir war alles, was ich wollte, was ich immer gewollte hatte.
Unsere Körper krümmten sich vor Erregung und unsere Erektionen flehten um Aufmerksamkeit. Mein Herz hämmerte wie verrückt.
Oskars Bartstoppeln kratzten über meinen Kiefer und unter meinem Ohr entlang. Er drückte sich an mich und ich fühlte mich, als würde ich in Flammen aufgehen. Meine Leistengegend pochte. Ich war noch nie in meinem Leben so heiß gewesen.
„Scheiße.“ Scheiße, fühlte sich das gut an. Ich wollte mehr.
Oskar hörte auf, meinen Nacken zu küssen. Sein Blick klärte sich langsam wieder während er alles verarbeitete. Er legte seine Stirn an meine Schulter und atmete zitternd aus, dann stand er auf.
„Ich muss jetzt aufhören sonst schaffe ich es nicht mehr.“
„Dann hör nicht auf.“ Ich stützte mich auf meine Ellbogen. An die Stelle, an der er gelegen hatte, strömte nun kühle Luft, und ich wollte ihn zurück. Gleichzeitig verfluchte ich mich selbst dafür, dass ich ihn überhaupt erst geküsst hatte. Was machte ich nur? „Küss mich, Oskar.“
