This book although being a shifter story by Annabelle Jacobs isn’t part of the Regent’s Park Pack series it’s loosely connected to the world.

It’s in ways a perfect way to explore a shifter story by the author if you aren’t in the mood to pick up the first book in a series.

This book is for all who love a grittier story, a story were ugly fights are really a thing and I actually loved how Annabelle Jacobs was able to deliver the thrill of the illegal underground fights and why shifter Aaron Harper is participating in these.

The other part of the thrilling story makes the ambivalence to the legal part the inspector Michael Archer of the Shifter Crimes Task Force is embodying. It’s really hot how Micheal and Aaron are circling each other, how they are working together and how their mutual feelings are tainting their operation.

Like the other books by the author, we have graphic display of violence in a very dynamic way, you really can see the fighting scenes in front of you, may it the ones in the underground cage or later in the book.

I’m a sucker for law enforcement and stories with cops or other police staff. Micheal totally gave me the right amount of being a character who’s devided between his believes and following the right path and being tempted by his fated mate and have strong, inexplicable feelings for him.

Sexy, hot and with a few gritty scenes, the book deserves its 5 out of 5 stars. ❤

Clapham Common—a new pack with their own set of problems…

Shifter Aaron Harper gets drawn into illegal underground fighting to keep an eye on his best friend. The thrill of the fight keeps him coming back for more, but discovery could mean imprisonment and banishment from their pack. Without a beta to watch over them, common sense takes a back seat.

Michael Archer of the Shifter Crimes Task Force is investigating recent murders. Despite the brutal cause of death pointing to the work of a shifter’s claws, instinct tells him a well-known nightclub owner is involved, but they have no proof.

Aaron and Michael’s paths cross after another body with the same injuries is discovered. With Aaron finding himself on the wrong side of the SCTF and Michael looking for a killer, any attraction between them is both ill-advised and unlikely. But fate has other ideas.

Set in the Regent’s Park pack world

Copy of Annabelle_edited-1
Annabelle Jacobs lives in the South West of England with three rowdy children, and two cats.

An avid reader of fantasy herself for many years, Annabelle now spends her days writing her own stories. They’re usually either fantasy or paranormal fiction, because she loves building worlds filled with magical creatures, and creating stories full of action and adventure. Her characters may have a tough time of it—fighting enemies and adversity—but they always find love in the end.
