Release Blitz + Review: Desperately Seeking Santa by Eli Easton (w/ giveaway)

My lovely readers,

I want to celebrate the release day with a blitz post to Eli Eason’s holiday romance Desperately Seeking Santa.

You’ll love this story if you’re up for a christmas themed one with a Brobdingnagian kind of guy, but gentle to the core & a fierce, almost sassy reporter. 😀

See this post for a giveaway & of course my review. :3

Happy reading. 🙂

I really liked this Christmas themed story. It was a cozy, nice & pleasant holiday read.

I was totally fond of the high difference between Mack “The Mountain” McDonall and Gabriel, short Gabe, Martin.
Mack is a total sweetheart and it’s no wonder that Gabe is instantly captured by him. Mack is first pretty shy, but behind the exterior appearance and the bulky body he is tender to the deepest core. He has every reason to be hesitant and after a while Gabe is cracking his shell and Mack opens towards the in some parts sazzy journalist student. 🙂

I really liked the slow burn, it’s super sweet and due to Mack’s past and what happened with his father, it’s pretty reasonable why he hesitants to open up to other. The whole book had a total emotional topic and the real reason why Mack is how he is breaks your heart. ❤

The book is pretty slow on the sexual side, but this is fitting to the two guys. It’s the soft, tender touches which are making not only Gabe shiver, it’s the caring and the warm feeling you have when Gabe is thinking about Mack, and it’s the reaction of Mack when Gabe is hilarious but charming.
Mack is a sweet, earnest, respectable young man and with Gabe along his side it’s a great mix for a solid relationship. I really liked their chemistry, and especially the difference in their height, it gave some scenes a special spice. :3

Of course the book doesn’t come without a bit drama. The main reason for possible conflicts are directly connected to Gabe’s task to write an article about the local children’s home and the fact that a mysterious Santa is giving the children joy & brings presents but never reveals his true identity. This is in danger when Gabe is investigating more and more. I really liked this part too although I wasn’t sometimes totally happy of Gabe’s  behaviour. He acknowledged that he is sometimes too eager but sometimes he has a tendency to come along a bit bratty.

I loved the connection and the warm feeling the book gave me overall. Their is a connection to a former book of the author, Superhero, but you can read this book as a perfect stand alone. The reappearing, established couple is introduced properly.

Although I liked this book pretty much, tiny sparks were missing and a few times I was confused by the chararater’s actions and behaviour. Therefore I give 4 out of 5 stars. 🙂

Journalism student Gabe Martin gets his first professional assignment—to write about a Christmas charity dinner that benefits a children’s home. It sounds like a total snooze-fest until Gabe learns that the event’s Santa is a mystery man. He shows up in costume and no one has a clue who he is. Uncovering Santa’s identity sounds like the perfect angle to turn a fluff piece into serious journalism.

Mack “The Mountain” McDonall, at 6’10”, is University of Wisconsin-Madison’s enormous star wrestler. When Gabe first claps eyes on him at a wrestling match, it’s lust at first sight. Gabe’s friend, Jordan, sets up the pair on a date. But when Gabe chatters on about his plans for outing Santa, Mack goes cold, and their first meeting becomes an epic fail.

As Gabe researches the children’s home, he learns that Mack has secrets a guy famous for being a brute wouldn’t want the world to know. Can Gabe find his holiday spirit, write a killer article, win the heart of a surly giant, and give everyone a very merry Christmas?

Author bio  – Eli Easton

Eli Easton has been at various times and under different names a minister’s daughter, a computer programmer, a game designer, the author of paranormal mysteries, a fan fiction writer, an organic farmer, and a long-distance walker. She began writing m/m romance in 2013 and has published 27 books since then. She hopes to write many more.

As an avid reader of such, she is tickled pink when an author manages to combine literary merit, vast stores of humor, melting hotness, and eye-dabbing sweetness into one story. She promises to strive to achieve most of that most of the time. She currently lives on a farm in Pennsylvania with her husband, two bulldogs, several cows, and a cat. All of them (except for the husband) are female, hence explaining the naked men that have taken up residence in her latest fiction writing.
