Bitten by Desire by Annabelle Jacobs

With a – for now – fulminant end of the Regent’s Park Pack this book surprised me so many times. I was totally into the book right from page one, and I cheered, I cried and wished all the best for Alec and Mark.
When I say I enjoyed the book, it’s not enough, in fact I LOVE it, and it’s the way how Annabelle Jacob engrosses the reader with her writing. The writing is on point, there is the necessary thrill and suspense, the events are twisting and you don’t expect them this way. They have not only a huge impact for the characters in the book, they infect the reader too. And that’s all I want. I couldn’t drop the book for a minute (okay, only for necessary breaks going to the bathroom and eating something obviously :D) and I wanted soooo dearly to see if Alec and Mark get their happy end.
I love wolfshifter series but not all are great. Annabelle Jacobs is one of the authors who delivers a solid story, super interesting, intriguing characters. They are so full of emotions. They are tough, they fight hard and sometimes ugly but never are they malicious – and they truly act in benefit of their pack. At least the “good” guys.
I love the dynamics in the book, the hierachy in the Regent’s Park Pack and the loyalty, so deeply bound to the single members, which is a stark contrast to the crumbling Primrose Hill Pack.
Alec and Mark can’t deny their bond, they feel instant attraction first but soon it’s replaced by the mating process and both aren’t prepared for it. Normally a reason to celebrate both packs are under investigation and have to deal with mistrust and violence.
The wolfshifter, paranormal topic is hot in this book and next to the captivating sensual scenes the procedures in the different packs is displayed in a super interesting way. You see how well considered the whole universe is in which the book takes place and the surrounding story and the hierachy as well as the laws the packs have to obey, including the judiciary with the group of the alphas judging their actions, is not only an interesting part of the story, it gives the whole book the depths.
The book gets the full 5 stars from me. I assume this is the last book in the series, the subplot going on from book #1, Bitten by Mistake, is now solved but maybe we are lucky and get one or two new books. 🙂
So far I keep the guys in mind and I recommend to read this series. So worth it. ❤
