Readers, are you eager to read a BDSM story where a churchboy is pushing the buttons of a dominant and is able to get under the dom’s skin?
Check out my review of J.R. Gray’s Say Yes.
It’s a re-release, formerly released in an alternative version under the series Bound to be Naughty, a series by different authors.
This post contains also two excerpts, a longer and shorter one and don’t miss the giveaway at the end of the post. 🙂 Your chance to win an ecopy of this book.
Happy reading. 😉

This novella is actually the first book I read by the author and I pick normally BDSM stories with caution because not always they are my first pick of genre. But this was good, still a bit short and some events felt a bit rushed. I wished we had a bit more time to get in contact with James and Charles and therefore a bit more space that both could explore a bit more. The depth is a bit lacking, the character are interesting an promising.
James’ background with feeling guilty and devided between his learned “faith” from childhood on and his own desires is the main problem in the book. James is developing his feelings, his true nature and Charles gives him finally the space and acknowledged his needs, he senses them. Charles is a quite difficult character to grip. He is kind of genereous and really caring, but he is a dom and therefore has rules he wish James obey. On the other hand you really can read in the sublines about his caring soul and his developing and deeper growing feelings for James.
The BDSM scenes are really interesting still a bit passion is missing in combination with the connection. There is one, there is trust and the way both interact with each other is fitting, but as I said it was a bit rushed sometimes.
The part with James’ mother could also have been a bit better put into the book, still I liked this part nontheless and it gaves an insight of James. Unfortunately very little of Charles is mentioned, and some information which were given are a bit random.
James is a bit more revealed and “displayed”. We get his witty, sassy side, something which is challenging Charles and which is a pleasant change from other BDSM stories. The power lays, as this story told, really into the submission’s hands. It’s really nice and could have get more space. A bit unused potential.
Maybe we’ll see James and Charles again, the book was a solid, nice and pleasant read for a rainy afternoon. I give the book 4 out of 5 stars because James was really pleasant. And I also liked Charles although he felt a bit flat compared to James.

He tried to be what they wanted.
He tried to deny it.
He tried to be a good Catholic boy…but it’s become too much.
He craves pain, submission.
He’s denied himself far too long, and it’s eating him alive.
Charles thrives off the exchange of power. He knows the world revolves around control. It’s given and taken like currency, in business and in pleasure. He won’t get attached, though, or so he tells himself, until James turns his world upside down. He’s defiant and snarky, but Charles can taste the submission on him.
Charles holds the key to his salvation but James has to Say Yes.

He took another few breaths then walked back toward the changing rooms. “Let me know if there is anything else you need.” James was proud of how even his voice sounded. He would get Charles out of here and then go home to gay porn and cold showers. He had three more years at least, and he had to find a few ounces of self-control to make it through.
“I could use some help.”
“Sure.” James put a smile on his face and came around the corner again to find Charles leaning back against the mirrors with the dress shirt he wore unbuttoned, showing off his cut chest. James followed it down to where Charles gripped himself through his slacks.
“Want to help?”
James swallowed hard.
And are you ready for a a sexy one? Happy reading with Excerpt # 2
“It’s a good thing I never lose.” He turned away, with astute arrogance which couldn’t be faked. It took years of Upper East Side inbreeding to obtain the level of innate sophistication, above even the level of wealth James had been raised with.
“Maybe this will be the first time,” even as James said the words he wanted to swallow them back.
“I don’t think so.” Charles’s voice was almost sing-songy.
“Cocky dick,” James muttered under his breath, not loud enough for Charles to hear him, or so he thought.
“I think you need a little bit of this dick.” He kept getting further away, and James felt like he was losing him.
“Come back here.”
“Well since you asked so nicely.” He flashed him a wink and stalked in close, like the last twenty minutes hadn’t happened. He lifted a hand and placed it at the base of James’ neck.
“Not here.” James glanced around. No one was looking, but they were still so exposed, which seemed an absurd idea considering where they were, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it—yet.
Yet? Where had that idea come from? James was reeling. He’d never even given in to the temptation of fucking a man, and now he was considering submitting to one in public. He must have lost his damn mind.
Charles fisted a hand in his shirt. “Tell me where?”
The look in his eyes made his knees weak. “Who’s the dominant here?”
Charles tightened his grip on James’ throat. The pressure wasn’t suffocating, but arousing, owning—possessive even. He’d never felt so turned on in his life. The next morning he’d expect to find bruises.
“I want you, and I’m going to have you.” Charles’ voice had dropped so low, James could barely hear it.

Author Kerry Heavens says:
“Yes – to the delicious slow burn which goes head to head with an intense urgency. Yes – to James’ soft vulnerability that meets its match in Charles’ steely determination. Yes – to the forbidden vs the shameless. Yes – to more…I’m saying YES!”
Author bio – J.R. Gray
When not staying up all night writing, J.R. Gray can be found at the gym where it’s half assumed he is a permanent resident to fulfill his self-inflicted masochism. A dominant and a pilot, Gray finds it hard to be in the passenger seat of any car. He frequently interrupts real life, including normal sleep patterns and conversations, to jot down notes or plot bunnies. Commas are the bane of his existence even though it’s been fully acknowledged they are necessary, they continue to baffle and bewilder. If Gray wasn’t writing…well, that’s not possible. The buildup of untold stories would haunt Gray into an early grave, insanity or both. The idea of haunting has always appealed to him. J.R. Gray is genderqueer and prefers he/him pronouns.
